Usage Licence

Licence Permissions

AppScreens lets you generate and export app store screenshots and related creative assets (including templates, layouts, and rendered images) for use in app stores, websites, ads, pitch decks, and marketing materials. Your permitted use depends on the licence included with your plan.

Licence types

AppScreens offers three licence types:

  • Free licence: personal or internal use while trying AppScreens
  • Standard licence: internal use without resale or client deliverables
  • Extended licence: agencies, freelancers, and resellers delivering paid work to clients

Free licence

Best for: trying AppScreens, indie makers, and shipping your own listing on a budget.

The Free licence allows you to export and use AppScreens creations for your own apps and internal projects, as long as you are not selling, redistributing, or using the exports as part of a paid client deliverable.

You can

  • Use exports for your own app store listings, website, and marketing.
  • Publish exports in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and other supported stores.
  • Use exports for unlimited internal end products owned by you or your organisation.
  • Use exports without attribution, unless they are watermarked.

You cannot

  • Create exports for clients or sell exports as a paid deliverable.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute exports as standalone assets (packs, bundles, libraries).
  • Offer AppScreens screenshot creation as a paid service for multiple clients.
  • Use software, or any other process, to remove watermarks.

Standard licence

Best for: teams and companies creating screenshots for their own products.

The Standard licence allows you to export and use AppScreens creations in unlimited end products where the end user is not charged specifically for the exported creative assets.

You can

  • Use exports for your own apps, app store listings, websites, landing pages, ads, and social content.
  • Use exports across unlimited products owned by you or your organisation.
  • Use exports without attribution.

You cannot

  • Sell, sublicense, or redistribute exports as standalone assets (packs, bundles, libraries).
  • Charge a client or end user specifically for the exported screenshots as the product.
  • Provide screenshot exports as a paid service to multiple clients (use Extended for that).

Extended licence

Best for: agencies, freelancers, studios, and resellers delivering client work.

The Extended licence allows you to export, distribute, and include AppScreens creations in paid client deliverables, including cases where the exported assets form part of what the client is paying for.

You can

  • Create exports for clients and include them in paid deliverables.
  • Charge for screenshot design services created using AppScreens.
  • Distribute exports to clients for their commercial use (including app stores, websites, ads).
  • Use exports without attribution.

You cannot

  • Resell exports as a competing template marketplace or stock library where the primary value is the exported assets themselves, unless explicitly agreed in writing.
  • Claim ownership of AppScreens templates or device frames as standalone assets.

Future-proof licensing

Any exports you generate during an active licensing period remain licensed forever under that licence type, even if you later cancel.

Example: if you're on a Standard licence for two months, all exports created during those two months remain covered by the Standard licence indefinitely, provided the payment remains valid (not refunded, reversed, or charged back).

Refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks

Important: Licence coverage only applies to exports created while your plan was active and in good standing. If a payment is refunded, reversed, or charged back, the licence for exports created under that payment is void. Any exports covered by a voided licence become unlicensed and must not be used unless you re-licence them.

Cancellation: Cancelling stops future exports from being covered, but does not affect exports created during an active, valid licensing period.

Refunds, reversals, chargebacks: If a payment is refunded, reversed, or charged back, licence coverage for exports created under that payment is void. Those exports become unlicensed and must not be used unless re-licensed.

If you're unsure whether specific exports are still licensed, contact us and we'll help you verify.

Liability

You are responsible for how you use AppScreens exports and for the content you upload or generate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to, at our discretion, a refund of the plan amount paid for the applicable licensing period.
